Expertise
Shimi Minhas has 17 years of experience in finance,
accounting, contract management and administration in the private sector
serving the government, commercial, non-profit, construction and utility
industries. Shimi is a partner and an integral part of the Kinetek
service delivery component as well as member of its’ product and
business development team. Shimi has a diverse background in the
areas of business intelligence, project management,
accounting and finance, and cost accounting.
Shimi specializes in providing
organizations the complete set of services necessary to deploy a sound
business intelligence system. Her best business practices approach
focuses on helping companies design, build, deploy and support business
intelligence and data warehousing solutions that are tightly tied to
corporate or departmental strategic initiatives. To date Shimi has
successfully performed engagements for clients across the aerospace,
military, non-profit, systems integration, utilities, software
development and construction industries. This experience allows Shimi
to provide customers with recommendations
to select the best combination of technology while creating
solutions that meet an organization’s business needs today and will
easily adapt to business and organizational changes in the future.
Prior to Kinetek, Shimi’s background included early work with
Loral Fairchild assisting in the Project Management of several large
contracts. From there, Shimi worked at Birch & Davis and The Orkand
Corporation as a staff accountant utilizing Deltek System’s “System I”
accounting software. While at Birch & Davis and The Orkand
Corporation, Shimi became extremely familiar with System 1 and the
complex contract reporting requirements of government contractors.
Most recently, Shimi held the position as Business
Intelligence Practice Director for Deltek Systems, Inc. In her role,
Shimi was responsible for managing a staff that worked to help
organizations design, build, deploy and support their business
intelligence initiatives. Shimi was also responsible for resolving
client issues, training and hiring new consultants, providing product
demonstrations, and supporting Deltek’s sales and marketing department.
With almost 10 years at Deltek, Shimi who has presented her solutions
and expertise at several Cognos User Conferences and events was able to
use her extensive experience in accounting and finance, software
configuration and business processes to single handedly implement an
end-to-end business intelligence solution for Deltek Systems Inc. (http://www.cognos.com/news/releases/2003/0120.html).
At Kinetek, Shimi continues to provide her customers with the
expertise required to implement successful Business Intelligence
solutions. Shimi’s extensive experience as both a user and an
implementer allows her to give clients valuable insight into how to
configure software and how to operate efficiently in their respective
markets.
Shimi graduated from the
University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelors degree in
Accounting with a concentration in computers. Shimi is based in
